wiSamples is designed to streamline collection of water samples for stable isotope analysis, but may be useful for other field-collected samples as well.

Users can create projects to organize their sampling, with ownership information and default values for sample types and ID prefixes for each project.

Add samples with as little as four taps on your screen - auto-generated unique IDs and automated collection of time and location information from your device simplify the logging of this information. New sampling sites can be added directly through a map interface, or samples can be associated with existing sites from the users own projects or the wiDB public data archive (http://waterisotopes.org). A pack for offline utility allows users to pre-load map tiles and site locations before they hit the field, allowing use in areas without data connectivity.

Collected metadata is stored locally on the users device, and can be exported as a set of CSV tables for easy import into the users own database, spreadsheet manipulation, or voluntary archival in the wiDB. Sample lists from the wiSamples App make organizing and submitting your samples for lab analysis a breeze.
